Course Objectives: Manual Handling Awareness Certificate.

Course target delegates: Persons who are involved in Manual Handling Operations.

Delegates will gain an understanding of:-

• Defining and recognising problem areas in Manual Handling operations.

• Employer/Employee duties and responsibilities in relation to Manual Handling.

• Impact of Poor Manual Handling techniques.

• Causes and contributory factors of musculoskeletal disorders.

• Making assessment of the Manual Handling Tasks.

• Weight limit guidelines.

• Types and Selection of Lifting Aids.

• Kinetic Lifting Methods.

• Methods of 'Back Care'.

Delegates will receive a short multi choice Knowledge test and carry out a practical assessment to display understanding.

They will also receive all relevant course materials and support papers.

All Delegates will receive a certificate of attendance.

(As a supplement to this course, HSE MAC training and assessment training can be added to the course material)
