Course duration:  (1/2 to 1 day)

Course objectives: To train delegates in the safe use, inspection and fitting of Abrasive wheels

Course target delegates: Persons responsible for ordering, fitting and using Abrasive wheels in their daily duties.

Delegates will gain an understanding of:

• Regulations and Requirements.

• Hazards and dangers of Abrasive wheels.

• Definition of Abrasive wheels.

• Types of Abrasives and bond types.

• Abrasive Specifications.

• Speeds of Abrasive wheels.

• Reciept, Handling and Storage of Abrasive wheels.

• Inspection, examination and testing.

• Inspection of portable and bench grinders.

• Provision of guards and work rests.

• Correct methods of removal and mounting abrasive wheels (including Practical exercises.)

• Personal Protective Equipment.

Delegates will take a written paper to demonstrate understanding and carry out assessed practical exercises.

They will also receive all relevant course materials and support papers.

All Delegates will receive a certificate of attendance.
